wembury
Wembury is a lovely village with a post office and general store, two hairdressers and a small industrial site.
It also has a great pub called "The Odd Wheel" where I've met a lot of great people.
I am so envious of all the people I know that grew up here: Just imagine, schools out, on with the wetsuit and out on a surfboard.
Soon after moving to Wembury, the local Parish Council heard of me and press-ganged me into becoming a parish councillor, as I used to be a Borough Councillor back in Elmbridge. This was a great step in doing something for the community. During that time I was pressed into volunteering as a school governor and to run the "Beach Liaison Group". This group brought all of the stakeholders of the beaches around Wembury together to improve working together and to resolve issues. This was very successful. I was also chair of the Parish of Wembury Neighbourhood Plan
However, just prior to the Covid pandemic certain unpleasant elements came into the Parish Council, many lies were told; so I withdrew.
Down at the beach there is the Wembury Marine Centre who have a permanent exhibition and educational centre which is open during summer months. Schoolchildren from nearby Plymouth come to the Marine Centre to learn about the seas around us.
We sold our cottage in Wembury to Rachel's mum and moved to Spriddlestone, just outside Wembury to continue with our Barn Conversion Project
When I say Spriddlestone, we are geographically in Spriddlestone part of Brixton. However our postal town is Plymstock.
